Attica - Mrs. Bertha Jane Allen, age 75 of 418 West Street, died at 1:40 p.m. Saturday, August 17 at Williamsport Community Hospital. She had been ill for 3 days. Born Aug 22, 1887, in Pine Village, she was the daughter of Sylvester and Mary Cundiff Foster. She was married Dec 14, 1911 in Williamsport to John Leonard Allen wh preceded her in death Nov 26, 1941. Survivors include four sons, Clyde of Attica, John and Earl both of Williamsport, and Charles of Lafayette; 3 daughters, Mrs. Morris (Mary) Drane and Mrs. Francis (Edith) Gross, both of attica and Miss Eva Mae Allen at home; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Delaney of Green Hill; 22 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday Aug 20 at the DeSutter Funeral Home. The Rev. Louis Haskell officiated. Burial in Riverside Cemetery.

Attica – Mrs. Bertha Jane Allen, 75 of 418 West Street died Saturday at Community Hospital, Williamsport, where she had been a patient three days. She was born in Pine Village. In 1911, at Williamsport, she married John l. Allen, who preceded her in death in 1941.  She is survived by four sons: Clyde, Attica; John and Earl both of Williamsport and Charles, Lafayette; three daughters, Mrs. Morris Drane, Mrs. Francis Gross and Miss Eva Mae Allen at home, all of Attica; and by a sister, Mrs. Nellie Delaney, Green Hill.
